Maintain Oxygenation

  • Utilizing bag valve mask and 100% O2 for ventilation
  • Request ALS and assess for signs of airway obstruction
  • Open airway
  • Apply nasal or oral airway if needed

Successful Oxygenation and Ventilation?

Yes

Continue with prior airway maneuvers

No

  • Proceed to intubation (3 attempts max)
  • Utilize Capnography after intubation
  • Consider gastric tube placement

Continue to monitor
