The division's energetic faculty supervises the residents' clinical experience and teaches at the bedside to provide immediate feedback, along with weekly didactic sessions. They also develop additional skills as future teachers through mentoring of medical students in clinical and research settings. For example, in our one-of-a-kind Air Force C-STAR program, residents educate physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in preparation for combat deployment. History
